                            Idea Cellular (down 2.70 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 2.25 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 1.64 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (down 1.39 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 0.88 per cent) stood as the top losers in the index.

                            On the contrary, ITI (up 6.23 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 3.18 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 1.60 per cent) and MTNL (up 1.60 per cent) emerged as the top gainer in the index, gaining over 1 per cent.

                            The BSE Telecom index hit intraday high and low of 1,417 and 1,368, respectively.

                            Among the sectoral gainers on NSE, Nifty Realty led, followed by metal and IT indices.

                            Coal India, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Industries and Dr Reddy’s stood as the top Sensex gainers.

                            On the contrary, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Power Grid, Lupin and Cipla emerged as the top losers.

                            Benchmark Nifty50 index closed 39 points up at 9,952, while the 30-share Sensex settled 107 points up at 31,810 on Tuesday.

                            In the Nifty50 pack, 31 stocks ended the day in green, while 20 stocks settled the day in red on Tuesday.
