                      The index was trading at 281, down 2.35 per cent around 1.10 pm (IST), with shares of Delta Corp (down 4.08 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (down 3.69 per cent), Housing Development and Infrastructure (down 3.51 per cent), DLF (down 3.08 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (down 3.03 per cent) cracking over 3 per cent.

                      Unitech (up 1.97 per cent) was the only component in the index trading in green around that time.

                      Benchmark indices developed cold feet as geopolitical tensions flared up after media reports emerged that South Korea retaliated North Korea’s aggression by firing a missile into the sea to simulate an attack on latter’s nuclear test site.

                      Following the development, Sensex shed over 330 points and Nifty50 sank below 9,900 level, in line with Asian peers.

                      Nifty50 index was trading 78 points lower at 9,897, while the 30-share Sensex was 231 points down at 31,661 around 1.10 pm (IST).

                      All sectoral indices were trading in red on NSE as well as on BSE.

                      Indian Oil Corporation, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Tata Power and ACC slipped over 2 per cent in the NIfty index.

                      However, Coal India, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bosch and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation were trading in green.

                      In the Nifty50 pack, 7 stocks were trading in green, while 44 stocks were in red.

                      On BSE, 764 stocks were advancing whereas 1,714 stocks were lagging.
