The index was trading 1.10 per cent down at 284 around 10.25 am (IST) with shares of Indiabulls Real Estate (down 2.20 per cent), Delta Corp (down 1.67 per cent), DLF (down 1.41 per cent), Unitech (down 1.32 per cent), Oberoi Realty (down 1.20 per cent) and Housing Development & Infrastructure (down 1.04 per cent) declining over 1 per cent.

Sobha (up 0.42 per cent) was the only component in the index trading in green around that time.

Selling in pharma, FMCG, bank and IT stocks, triggered by weak Asian cues kept domestic equity markets low.

Sun Pharma, ITC, Lupin, Axis Bank, TCS and Infosys were the top losers in the Nifty pack.

On the contrary, Gail, Reliance Industries, Indiabulls Housing Finance and UltraTech Cements were gaining.

Nifty50 index was trading 49 points lower at 9,903, while the 30-share Sensex was 186 points down at 31,623 around 10.25 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 14 stocks were trading in green, while 37 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 887 stocks were advancing whereas 1,081 stocks were lagging.
