                            Vedanta (0.13 crore), Sun Pharma (0.08 crore), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (0.08 crore), Infosys (0.08 crore), DLF (0.07 crore) and Sail (0.07 crore) were the other stocks in the pack.

                            Benchmark indices opened in green as Asian markets edged higher in morning trade, recovering from a global selloff that was triggered by North Korea’s fresh nuke tests.

                            A fresh spell of buying emerged in metal, bank and realty stocks.

                            Nifty Realty was leading among the sectoral gainers.

                            In the Nifty pack, Tech Mahindra, Indian Oil Corporation, Vedanta, Asian Paints and Tata Steel gained over 1 per cent.

                            On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Bharti Infratel appeared at the bottom of the index.

                            Benchmark Nifty50 index was 31 points up at 9,944, while the 30-share Sensex was 103 points up at 31,805 around 9.45 am (IST).

                            In the Nifty50 pack, 35 stocks were trading in green, while 16 stocks were in red.

                            On BSE, 1,302 stocks were advancing whereas 341 stocks were lagging.
