                            However, Jindal Steel & Power (down 2.42 per cent), Nalco (down 1.87 per cent) and Hindustan Zinc (down 1.47 per cent) settled in red, slipping over 1 per cent in the index.

                            Besides metal, media index also settled in green on NSE.

                            Benchmark indices settled in red as weak global cues amid heightened geopolitical tensions triggered selling in stocks from across the sectors.

                            In Nifty50, Coal India, Sun Pharma, Bosch, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Indiabulls Housing Finance and UltraTech Cement stood as the top gainers.

                            On the contrary, Indian Oil Corporation, Adani Ports, ACC, Infosys, Ambuja Cements and Tata Power settled at the bottom of the index, each declining over 2 per cent.

                            Benchmark Nifty50 index closed 62 points lower at 9,913, while the 30-share Sensex was 190 points down at 31,702 at the end of today’s session.

                            In the Nifty50 pack, 11 stocks settled in green, while 40 in red.
